C&A keep Trincomalee on an even keel
C&A Pumps have recently carried out the replacement of the submersible
pumps used to maintain the sailing ship HMS Trincomalee at the correct level in
her berth at Hartlepool Historic Quay.
This work was required after the original pumps had failed following severe
attack from the sea water in the dock.
Together with new controls and pipe work, C&A Pumps installed ITT Flygt
pumps fitted with sacrificial anodes in the main dock & berth. These pumps
maintain the water at a constant level, ensuring the ship is accessible to
visitors at all times, and that she will suffer no damage to her moorings.
